In the era of U.S. aid, Taiwan Provincial College of Engineering (TPCOE)
launched a cooperation program with Purdue University,
upgraded its software and hardware infrastructure,
and transformed itself into a more promising educational institute.
In 1956, TPCOE was upgraded to Taiwan Provincial Cheng Kung University (TPCKU),
aiming to cultivate talented professionals and lay a foundation
for the school to become a top university.
